The first version of the K2 Handbook has been released and is available in PDF format via the K2 Documents page at MAST. The K2 handbook describes:

  • Operation of the spacecraft in K2 compared to Kepler.
  • How K2 targets are selected and apertures chosen.
  • How the data is processed by the Kepler pipeline and archived.
  • Data quality and characteristics for campaigns processed to-date.
  • Publicly available engineering data.

Both novice and experienced users of K2 data are encouraged to read the handbook.
